President Macron Meets Morocco’s Head of Govt & Speakers of Two Chambers of Parliament
French President Emmanuel Macron held Tuesday in Rabat separate meetings with Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch, Speaker of the House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami, and Speaker of the House of Councillors Mohamed Ould Errachid.
Mr. Macron, who started Monday a three-day state visit to Rabat at the invitation of King Mohammed VI, held these meetings prior to delivering a speech at the Moroccan Parliament.
On Monday, the French President and King Mohammed VI held talks on new reinforced Moroccan-French exceptional partnership and future cooperation roadmap. They agreed to work together to strengthen the Euro-Mediterranean and the African & Atlantic projects for shared prosperity, human and sustainable development.
The two Heads of State also discussed the situation in the Middle East and called for an immediate cessation of the attacks in Gaza and Lebanon, reiterating the urgent need to re-launch the peace process on the basis of the two-State solution.
They signed a joint Declaration opening a new era in the two countries relations and chaired the signing ceremony of 22 deals and cooperation projects in strategic sectors including railways, renewable energies, green hydrogen, ports, education, culture, agriculture and farming.
