Sudan expels three Chadian diplomats in response to expulsion of three Sudanese diplomats

Sudan Sunday December 17 ordered three Chadian diplomats to leave the country within 72 hours after the central African country on Saturday also expelled four Sudanese diplomatic officials Saturday over baseless accusation of interference in the internal armed conflict that has crippled the country.
The Sudanese foreign ministry, according to the Sudanese state-run news agency, informed its Chadian counterpart that Idriss Youssouf Oumar, colonel Nasradine Mahamat and Mahamat Taher have been ordered to leave.
The move came after Chadian foreign ministry summoned Saturday Sudan’s ambassador to the country Osman Mohamed Younis and informed him about Chadian authorities’ decision to expel Mukhtar Bilal Abdelsalam El-Abass, Abdel-Rahim El-AWAD Eltoum, El-Hag Abdalla El-Hag Ahmed and Mohamed El-Hag Bakhit Farah, all of them officials working for the Sudanese diplomatic services.
Their expulsion came after Sudanese authorities in Khartoum finger-pointed N’djamena for interference in the internal affairs of Sudan.
Sudan has been since April this year plagued by a power struggle between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) under Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) under Hemedti, rival factions of the military government of Sudan.
Hundreds of SAF soldiers and thousands of civilians have fled fighting and found refuge in Chad.
Chad slammed the accusations and reminded Sudan that it has welcomed 1,371,088 displaced people, 1,675,000 asylum seekers and 456,336 new refugees.
