Côte d’Ivoire launches program to recruit 5,000 youth in sport job market
The administration of President Alassane Dramane Ouattara will launch this Monday June 26 an initiative that will provide jobs for 5,000 youth in the sport market field, as part of a national Program to provide jobs for 1.5 million youth in the West African country.
The selected youth, per the initiative, will also get training and the jobs will spread across 28 sectors including sports instructor, fitness instructor, lifeguard, sports retailer, sports equipment manager and sports equipment manufacturer.
The project is part of the 2023 edition of “Travaux à haute intensité de main d’œuvre (THIMO) [Labor-intensive jobs], an initiative that seeks to impact 15.900 youth.
THIMO itself is in line with the 2023-2025 Government Youth Program launched by the Ivorian leader.
The program will cost the country $1.8 billion and seeks to provide jobs and training opportunities to 1.5 million young Ivoirians.
