Libya launches ‘Skills and Solutions’ Project to boost youth employment, entrepreneurship
Libya’s Ministry of Economy and Trade has launched on Monday, September 29, the “Entrepreneurs Skills and Solutions Project” aiming to enhance youth employment and strengthen the private sector through targeted skills development.
The initiative, unveiled during a workshop in Tripoli, brought together ministry undersecretaries, representatives from chambers of commerce, international training organizations, and university innovation offices. The project focuses on equipping students, graduates, and small business owners with practical skills in the green and blue economy, aligning education with labor market demands, and promoting the use of digital technology in economic activities.
Minister of Economy Mohamed Al-Hwej underscored, during the launch ceremony, the critical role of universities, artificial intelligence, and modern education methods in fostering innovation and economic growth. He issued directives for close coordination with the Prime Minister’s “1,000 Entrepreneurs and 1,000 Projects” initiative, designed to support Libyan youth and drive entrepreneurship as part of the government’s broader economic vision.
Participants in a workshop, held on the sidelines of the project launch, discussed project preparation mechanisms, implementation phases, and inter-agency coordination to ensure the initiative delivers sustainable impact.
