Morocco-Azerbaijan: Deputy FM highlights excellent level of bilateral cooperation
Visiting Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister, Fariz Rzayev, emphasized, Tuesday in Rabat, the excellent level of cooperation between Morocco and his country despite the geographical distance, highlighting ways to strengthen bilateral relations.
At a conference at the headquarters of the presidency of the Mohammed V (UM5) University, held under the theme “Azerbaijan post-conflict-vision”, the Azerbaijani official gave an overview of the history of the conflict in the region, stressing the importance of the pooling efforts for the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the signing of a peace treaty for the post-conflict period.
He expressed his sincere thanks to the UM5 and commended its efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation relations in order to implement the plan of cooperation and sharing of experiences between the Moroccan and Azerbaijani universities, especially on the legal level.
The conference was attended by academics, diplomats and student-researchers.
Rzayev had earlier held talks with Moroccan foreign Minister Nasser Bourita on means of bolstering bilateral relations.
Talks also covered the preparation of the coming session of the joint intergovernmental commission that will be co-chaired by the two foreign ministers. It will be held next year.
“We are convinced that this session will further develop political, economic and humanitarian ties between our two countries,” the Azerbaijani official commented.
“Azerbaijan and Morocco are separated by a vast geographical distance but are linked by history, culture and above all a common vision of sovereign development, respect for the territorial integrity of each other and the importance of contributing to international peace, security and stability,” said Rzayev.
