Burkina Faso: Roadside bomb kills 10 people, injures five
At least 10 persons were killed and several others injured when their minibus hit a roadside bomb in eastern Burkina Faso last Sunday, authorities have announced.
Five other persons were injured in the accident and have admitted to hospital, Colonel Hubert Yaméogo, governor of the Eastern region, said.
Yameogo indicated that some passengers have gone missing without providing further details.
Burkina Faso has been reeling since 2015 with insecurity caused by terror groups including Al Qaeda and the Islamic State group.
The violence caused the death of thousands of people and the displacement of nearly 2 million people.
The Sunday incident came one day after another mine exploded in the east, between Ougarou and Matiacoali villages, injuring five soldiers.
The mine was reportedly targeting a unit near a mining site.
