Senegal to build stadiums in 26 provinces
Senegal is planning to build sports infrastructure including stadiums in 26 provinces across the 46 that up of the West African country, Sports Minister Yankhoba Diatara announced Wednesday according to Faapa news agency.
The Head of State Macky Sall, Diatara told lawmakers during a plenary, has instructed the cabinet to work on a program to build stadiums in the provinces.
A search has revealed that 26 provinces do not have sport infrastructures, he added.
The state official also told lawmakers that he is working with the ministry of Finances and Economy to mobilize resources to implement the program.
The West African country has allotted $37.1 million for sports in its 2023 national budget.
