Kuwait ruler dissolves parliament as PM presents new Cabinet team
Kuwait’s Emir on Tuesday issued a decree to dissolve parliament while Crown Prince Meshal Al-Sabah was presented a new Cabinet team by Prime Minister Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad.
Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported, said the dissolution of parliament came “because of practices and actions that threaten national unity.”
The date of the vote has yet to be announced.
Appointed last week by his father as Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al Sabah sworn in Tuesday before the Crown Prince who also validated his 12-member team.
Oil Minister, Mohammad Al Fares, Finance Minister, Abdul Wahab Al Rasheed and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Ahmed Nasser Al Mohammed Al Sabah, were all reappointed to their posts in the new government.
