Morocco to set up training institute on pharmaceutical industry jobs

Morocco unveiled a plan to set up an institute to train youth on pharmaceutical industry jobs as part of a deal between the industry ministry and the private sector.

The institute falls within the framework of a government plan to foster Morocco’s competitive advantage in exporting industries and follows similar steps taken in the aerospace, automotive and textile sectors.

The institute is also part of a vocational training strategy that was presented before King Mohammed VI in 2019 aiming to equip the Moroccan youth with skills required in highly technological industries.

Morocco’s pharmaceutical industry fabric meets more than 60% of Morocco’s medicine needs.

In 2019, exports of Morocco’s pharmaceutical sector, the largest in Africa, stood at 1.12 billion dirhams
