Qatar Airways enters Tunisia’s football industry with $8-million sponsorship deal with Club Africain
Qatar’s national carrier, Qatar Airways, has signed an $8-million sponsorship deal with Tunisia’s top tier football league team Club Africain – first such deal by the Gulf airline.
The four-year deal will enable the trade brand of the Gulf airline feature on the various sport kits of the Tunisian club.
Established in 1920, Club Africain becomes the first outfit of the Tunisian top league club to sign a sponsorship deal with Qatar’s national carrier.
Club Africain have been 13 times Champions of the Tunisian league. They also won African Cup of Champions Clubs in 1991 and two times winners of African Cup Winners’ Cup.
Qatar’s sponsorship for football clubs includes France’s giants PSG, Italy’s Roma, Argentina’s Boca Junior, and German champions Bayern München.
