Côte d’Ivoire: Moroccan Pharma 5 to invest $10 Million in Drug Producing
The Agreement was initialed Saturday in Rabat by Moroccan ministers of Health and of industry and by Côte d’Ivoire’s health minister.
Pharma 5, according to the agreement, will build at Bassam duty free zone, near capital Abidjan, a plant over 5,000 square meters, huffpostmaghreb.com reports.
The future plant will produce drugs mainly anti-hepatitis C drugs for the national market.
The future plant will enable Ivoirians to have access to affordable health care, said Moroccan Health Minister, EL Houssaine Louardi.
For Moulay Hafid Elalamy, the Minister of industry, trade and digital economy, the project is one of Morocco’s giant initiatives in the African continent and translates the South-South cooperation advocated by Morocco.
The project will boost further exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, he said, underlining that “Africa is the continent of the future.”
