Moroccan security services have arrested a 28-year-old Danish national of Israeli origin in Tangier who is considered one of the most wanted individuals in Denmark and the broader Scandinavian region.
The operation, carried out on Saturday 12 September by officers from the Tangier prefecture of national security on the basis of precise intelligence provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), targeted a suspect subject to an international arrest warrant issued by Danish judicial authorities.
An identity check against Interpol databases confirmed that the man was the subject of a Red Notice circulated by the National Central Bureau in Copenhagen. He is wanted in connection with serious crimes including drug trafficking, intentional homicide, kidnapping, and violent unlawful detention.
The operation underscores Morocco’s active role in international police cooperation and the pursuit of individuals wanted for transnational crime.
In early September, Morocco extradited two Swedish nationals suspected of playing key roles in large-scale drug trafficking networks. Swedish police publicly welcomed the extraditions, describing the cooperation with Moroccan services as professional and effective.
One of the men, aged 28, is alleged to have led a wholesale distribution network supplying drugs to major criminal groups in Sweden and other Nordic countries, linked to significant seizures of synthetic drugs and amphetamines in Uppsala, Stockholm and Malmö.
The second, aged 42, is accused of helping organize large-scale cannabis smuggling.
