Libya Reviews Security Plans to Strengthen Stability in Tripoli Region

Libya’s Presidential Council President and Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army, Mohammed Al-Menfi, has reviewed security and military developments as authorities move to strengthen security deployment and readiness in Greater Tripoli and the Western Coast region.

Al-Menfi held discussions on Sunday, August 2, 2026, in Tripoli with Defense Ministry Undersecretary Lieutenant General Abdul Salam Al-Zoubi and Acting Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Salah Al-Din Al-Namroush.

The meeting focused on coordination between military and security institutions, with emphasis on unifying field operations and improving the capacity of security Agencies to carry out their responsibilities effectively.

Al-Menfi stressed the need for continued cooperation to reinforce security and stability, strengthen state authority and address any threats to citizens and public and private property. He also called for greater coordination among security and military bodies to help maintain peace and stability in Greater Tripoli and the Western Coast region.
