Morocco’s tourism authorities are reporting sustained momentum from Brazil, with arrivals from the South American market rising 14 percent in the first half of 2026. Some 30,132 Brazilian visitors were recorded through the end of June, up from 26,545 in the same period last year, according to figures from the Moroccan Tourism Office.
The growth is closely tied to the revival of Royal Air Maroc’s direct route between Casablanca and Sao Paulo, which the airline now operates four times a week with its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Average load factors on the route stand at 83 percent, or roughly 250 passengers per flight, with 52,500 passengers carried between January and June alone.
“The Casablanca-Sao Paulo route continues to perform well and confirms the Brazilian market’s interest in Morocco,” Royal Air Maroc’s representative in Brazil, Othmane Baba, said, adding that the carrier is pressing ahead with its expansion across South America. A fifth weekly frequency is scheduled for October 28.
The airline has also signed an interline agreement with Brazilian carrier LATAM, intended to ease connections for passengers travelling from multiple Brazilian cities onto Royal Air Maroc flights via its Casablanca hub. Longer term, the carrier is targeting a daily Casablanca-Sao Paulo service by 2027, while a potential route to Rio de Janeiro remains under study, pending aircraft availability.
The momentum builds on a strong 2025, when Morocco welcomed 54,475 Brazilian tourists, a 35 percent increase over 2024 and above pre-pandemic levels of 47,113 in 2019. Overnight stays from Brazilian visitors reached 84,228 last year, up 47 percent, reinforcing Brazil’s position as a fast-growing source market for Moroccan tourism.
