Inauguration of Moroccan Pavilion at 61st Venice Biennale International Art Exhibition

The Moroccan Pavilion at the 61st Venice Biennale International Art Exhibition was inaugurated Friday by Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch.

The “Asǝṭṭa” project, led by artist Amina Agueznay and curator Meryem Berrada, represents Morocco at this major art exhibition, held at the Doges through next November.

This artistic project reflects the multifaceted richness of Moroccan heritage and its contemporary reach, and highlights artistry as a vehicle for storytelling, in perfect harmony with the overall theme of this edition: “In Minor Keys.”

The Kingdom’s participation in this 61st Venice Biennale is a unique opportunity to highlight rich and diverse Moroccan artistic creations, while engaging in a global dialogue on the transformations and innovations of contemporary art.

Founded in 1895, the Venice Art Biennale is among the most prestigious events on the international art scene. Held every two years, alternating with the Architecture Biennale, it is deemed a must-attend event in the art world.
