Prime Minister of Libya, Abdelhamid Dbaiba, on April 28, 2026, held talks with a delegation from Chevron to explore opportunities for expanding cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
The discussions focused on advancing investment and supporting the company’s operations in Libya, following its successful bid in a recent exploration licensing round organized by the National Oil Corporation—the first such round in more than 17 years.
Both sides reviewed a memorandum of understanding to conduct a comprehensive technical study of offshore Block NC146, alongside broader collaboration in exploration, production and oil field development. Dbaiba reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to fostering partnerships with international energy firms, highlighting efforts to provide a stable investment climate, facilitate knowledge transfer and enhance efficiency within Libya’s energy sector as part of its wider development agenda.
