Morocco to accelerate its digital strategy

Morocco’s Digital Development Agency (ADD) approved a new roadmap, action plan, and budget during its seventh board meeting to accelerate the country’s digital transformation

The meeting focused on the continued rollout of Digital Morocco 2030, a national strategy designed to position the Kingdom as a leading regional digital hub with strong innovation capacity.

The plan aims to foster a sustainable and inclusive digital ecosystem that strengthens economic competitiveness and improves the quality of public services.

Morocco’s 2030 digital strategy aims to improve citizen and business services, consolidate e‑administration platforms, and increase Morocco’s ranking in the UN Online Services Index from 113th to within the top 50 by 2030.

The government has committed 11 billion dirhams ($1.1 billion) from 2024 to 2026 toward the strategy.

Key to the strategy is the additional $8 billion that is being invested by the country’s telecom operators to expand the roll out of 5G infrastructure, aiming for 85% national coverage by 2030.
