The Nador West Med port complex has reached a decisive milestone with the operational entry into service of its East Terminal, Boursenews reports. The achievement is carried by West Med Container Terminal (WMCT), the infrastructure’s concessionaire, and comes at the end of a successful testing phase completed ahead of the projected schedule.
The infrastructure has confirmed its full capacity to receive its first commercial port calls, positioning the Kingdom toward a new standard of logistics and port excellence in the Mediterranean. Deployment of this strategic terminal rested on careful preparation combining the installation of state-of-the-art facilities, the setup of latest-generation technological equipment, and the rigorous recruitment and training of operating teams. The successful handling of a real-conditions test call validated the smooth coordination of operational processes, demonstrating the platform’s ability to handle the world’s largest container ships and reinforcing Morocco’s attractiveness within international trade and maritime transport.
Through this ramp-up, Nador West Med is asserting itself as a first-rank hub capable of energizing trade flows and supporting regional and national economic growth.
