Morocco Joins International Stabilization Force for Gaza, Spearheaded by Board of Peace

Morocco, founding member of the U.S.-led Board of Peace, has reportedly joined the International Stabilization Force for Gaza (ISF) honoring its commitment made in February to deploy police officers and military personnel to the Gaza Strip.

In a post published Tuesday on its X account, ISF “has welcomed its newest members from the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces”, saying their arrival strengthens the international effort to support the people of Gaza.

According to some press reports, Moroccan military planners have already arrived at the U.S. headquarters in Kiryat Gat to take part in discussions on the future multinational force, making major step in operational preparation.

The Moroccan officers are believed involved in planning work and are not being deployed into Gaza at this stage. Morocco is expected to deploy a field hospital for injured Palestinian civilians and participate in securing humanitarian corridors and training Palestinian police in Gaza.

Morocco will deliver critical security and humanitarian support to the civilian population in Gaza. Albania, Greece and other countries will join ISF in Gaza to assist in peacekeeping operations during Phase II of the ceasefire agreement.

The North African Kingdom had pledged to deploy a field hospital to provide urgent medical services and launch a comprehensive program to combat hate speech and promote the values of tolerance and coexistence.

The Board of Peace is tasked with rebuilding Gaza and resolving global conflicts. Morocco has been chosen to serve in this new international body because of its sound credibility and leadership on the international scene in addition to its independent and moderate foreign policy, its steadfast commitment to international peace and respect for international law.

The setting up of the Board of Peace had been approved by the UN Security Council as part of Trump’s Gaza peace plan, a multilateral agreement to address Gaza war and broader Middle Eastern crisis.

Nearly 35 countries including Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Indonesia, Egypt, Turkey, UAE, Qatar, Argentina, Jordan…back the Board of Peace, gathering a coalition of willing States committed to effective international peace-building.
