Abdulhamid Dbeibah has called for improved performance in Libya’s health sector and faster completion of treatment projects, while insisting on transparency and strict oversight in the awarding of contracts and tenders.
Speaking during an expanded meeting on Monday, May 11, with senior Government officials and health sector Agencies, Dbeibah stressed the need to complete the equipping of cancer and dialysis Centres to the highest technical standards and improve the operational readiness of health facilities across the country.
The meeting reviewed healthcare services in hospitals and medical centres, cancer treatment programmes, the supply of medicines and medical materials, and progress in equipping specialised centres with the required devices and equipment.
Officials also discussed administrative and financial challenges delaying health projects and contracting procedures, with the aim of accelerating implementation and improving efficiency.
Representatives of the National Diabetes Authority and National Kidney Disease Authority presented reports on the readiness of dialysis centres, the condition of diabetic patients, and ongoing care and monitoring programmes in different regions.
