Royal Air Maroc Expands Cool Chain Capacity to Meet Growing Demands of Fresh Produce & Pharmaceutical Professionals

Royal Air Maroc Cargo has announced it is upgrading and expanding its cold storage facilities at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport to meet increasing demands of fresh produce & flowers growers and pharmaceutical industry.

Once complete, the cold storage warehouse will have 5 cooling chambers, including 3 for import and 2 for export totalling 590 m², offering cool supply chain for seamless air cargo shipments.

To address growing demands, “Royal Air Maroc Cargo needs more and larger cold storage chambers to continue providing top-quality service”, said Head of Cargo Operations at Royal Air Maroc, stressing the importance of energy efficiency in the company’s cool chain.

Agricultural products are top export commodity for Royal Air Maroc Cargo. Its Fresh Cargo service is designed to handle temperature-sensitive shipments such as perishables. They receive priority handling in temperature-controlled spaces and state-of-the-art cool containers and ULD supplied by specialised providers.

The Company’s Fresh Cargo service ensures timely delivery of each perishable shipment. Royal Air Maroc Cargo operates cold storage facilities in all Moroccan airports.

The global demand for temperature-sensitive products is rapidly increasing. Pharmaceuticals require strict temperature controls to maintain effectiveness, while perishable foods demand swift transportation to preserve freshness.
