Moroccan and Russian Foreign Ministers Highlight Strategic Partnership

Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita held a phone call Friday with his Russian peer Sergey Lavrov, during which the two officials highlighted the strength of ties between the two countries.

According to a statement from Morocco’s Foreign Ministry, the two officials expressed satisfaction with the “quality of friendship and cooperation” linking the two countries and confirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening and deepening this partnership.

The phone call comes as the two countries mark the 10th anniversary of their enhanced strategic partnership, signed in March 2016 in Moscow during a visit by King Mohammed VI.

During their conversation, Bourita and Lavrov also exchanged views on several current regional and international issues. They emphasized the importance of continued consultation and closer coordination in support of international peace and stability, the ministry said in its statement.
