Libya Launches Preparations to Host Fourth Turkey–Africa Partnership Summit

Libya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has convened the first meeting of a high-level preparatory committee to begin arrangements for hosting the fourth Turkey–Africa Partnership Summit. The meeting outlined the overall framework for preparations and underscored the political and diplomatic importance of the summit.

Officials described the event as a major milestone in Turkey–Africa relations, providing an opportunity to review outcomes from the third summit held in Istanbul in 2021 and to chart future areas of cooperation.

The committee examined an initial proposal for its working mechanism, addressing political, substantive and organizational dimensions. Participants stressed the importance of early, structured preparation and close coordination with national institutions as well as regional and international partners. Foreign Minister Taher Al-Baour, who chaired the meeting, called for intensified collective efforts in the coming period to ensure a successful summit and to maximize the benefits for Libya from hosting the continental event.
