Libya and Spain to strengthen economic cooperation, investment ties
The President of Libya’s General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, Mohammed Al-Raied, has met with Spain’s Ambassador to Libya, Javier García-Larrache, to explore new avenues for strengthening bilateral economic cooperation.
The discussions highlighted Spain’s crucial role in supporting Libya’s national economy and fostering investments aimed at driving sustainable growth. Al-Raied underscored the need to lift travel restrictions on Spanish business representatives to facilitate their entry into the Libyan market and encourage broader engagement in trade and investment.
Both parties agreed to intensify communication and convene the Libyan–Spanish Economic Forum in the near future. They also committed to reactivating existing memoranda of understanding between the General Union and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce to bolster partnership initiatives that serve the mutual economic interests of both nations.
