The Tripoli Security Directorate has outlined plans to safeguard the upcoming municipal Council elections, set for August 16.
In an expanded meeting, attended by senior Interior Ministry officials, participants reviewed security measures and coordination mechanisms among various agencies to ensure a smooth and secure voting process.
The meeting built on earlier discussions between Interior Minister Emad Al-Trabelsi, the UN deputy special representative, and the chairman of the High National Elections Commission.
On Monday, Al-Trabelsi also met with the UN security team and the Elections Commission to finalize arrangements for securing the polls.
