Libya: New date for the Tripoli Electronic Payment Forum

Libya: New date for the Tripoli Electronic Payment Forum

The largest banking gathering in Libya, the Electronic Payment Forum and Exhibition, will now be held at the Tripoli International Fairgrounds from June 15–17, 2025, according to a statement from the Central Bank of Libya (CBL). The event was postponed from its original May 20 date because of recent security incidents in the capital.

The forum, the first of its kind in Libya, seeks to examine opportunities for digital transformation in the banking and financial industries as well as to present the newest digital payment solutions and technologies. The forum will help build digital infrastructure for financial services and support the nation’s financial inclusion strategy.

Commercial banks, technology firms, government agencies, and local and foreign experts and specialists are anticipated to attend in large numbers, establishing the event as a premier forum for knowledge sharing and showcasing digital transformation projects and initiatives in the financial industry.

The Central Bank further stated that this forum is a component of its endeavors to foster financial innovation and introduce contemporary payment systems.
