
Morocco, Philippines celebrate 50th Anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties
King Mohammed VI and President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. of the Philippines have exchanged congratulatory messages on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In his message, the King underlined the importance he attaches to the close, longstanding bonds enjoyed by the two countries in various sectors.
The past five decades of Morocco-Philippines relations stand out as a model of bilateral ties rooted in mutual esteem and fruitful cooperation, the Monarch noted, affirming that bilateral relations have led to tangible, positive results in several fields, reflecting the depth of the close friendship and mutual understanding between the two nations.
The King also assured the Philippine President of Morocco’s commitment to continue working to strengthen cooperation with Philippines and explore new horizons for partnership. The aim is to give fresh momentum to bilateral relations and take them to a higher level to fulfil shared aspirations and contribute to promoting peace and stability at the regional and international levels.
The King said he was looking forward to the promotion of cooperation and coordination between the two countries and expressed hope that this partnership will be strengthened and expanded in various sectors in the coming years, for the mutual benefit of both peoples.
For his part, the Philippine president extended to the King his warmest congratulations on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of relations between the Republic of the Philippines and the Kingdom of Morocco.
This major milestone in bilateral relations, he wrote, not only allows to reflect on the achievements of the past five decades, but also provides the direction for steering partnership towards mutual growth and prosperity for the next 50 years.
He affirmed that the establishment of resident embassies in respective capitals was a significant development in bilateral ties.
