Human trafficking network between Bangladesh and Libya dismantled, three arrested

A human trafficking network operating between Bangladesh and Libya has been dismantled following a successful operation by the Stability Support Apparatus (SSA).

The operation led to the arrest of three individuals—one Libyan and two Bangladeshi nationals—who are accused of preparing 17 Bangladeshi migrants for illegal transport to Europe. According to reports, the traffickers were arranging for the migrants to be transported to Zawara, where further plans for a dangerous Mediterranean crossing were being made.

The trafficking ring allegedly involved receiving migrants at Benina International Airport in Benghazi, offering temporary housing in Tripoli, and organizing sea passages to Europe. The arrested suspects have confessed to their roles in the operation and have been transferred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation. They will remain in custody for six days during the ongoing inquiry.

The Stability Support Apparatus, a state-funded security organization in Libya, is dedicated to maintaining order and combating organized crime within the country.
