Morocco, Belgium discuss security & intelligence cooperation to counter terror threats
Security cooperation between Morocco and Belgium were at the center of talks held Monday in Rabat between Abdellatif Hammouchi, Chief of national police & domestic intelligence agency and Head of Belgium State Security (VSSE) Francisca Bostyn.
They discussed ways of countering terrorist threats regionally and internationally, particularly in the Sahel region. The two parties stressed the importance of expanding cooperation between the two countries’ domestic security services, facilitating the exchange of information, experience & expertise to strengthen security partnership between the two countries.
The VSSE Administrator General hailed the security cooperation with the Moroccan security agencies in the fight against terrorism and extremism, expressing her country’s willingness to consolidate this cooperation.
Her visit to Morocco is a recognition of the trust and credibility the North African Kingdom enjoys on the international scene in the fight against terrorism for the sake of regional and global security and stability.
