ITA Airways prepares to resume flights to Libya
Andrea Benassi, Director of Italy’s ITA Airways, announced, ongoing arrangements between the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority and its Italian counterpart for the resumption of ITA Airways flights to Libya, though he did not specify an exact date for the restart.
The announcement was made during a meeting between Libya’s Minister of Transport in the Government of National Unity, Mohammed Al-Shahoubi, the President of the Italian Civil Aviation Authority, ITA Airways’ director, and the Italian Ambassador to Tripoli.
Al-Shahoubi praised the strengthening of Libyan-Italian relations across various sectors and reviewed the progress made in coordinating between the two countries’ civil aviation authorities to facilitate the resumption of flights.
As part of the efforts, a high-level Italian delegation toured Mitiga International Airport, where they were briefed on the procedures in place and the measures being implemented to ensure aviation safety and security. The delegation included the President of the Italian Civil Aviation Authority and representatives from ITA Airways.
