U.S. Senator Jerry Moran: Morocco, Beacon of Peace & Stability in the World

U.S. senator Jerry Moran has lauded Morocco’s contributions for peace and stability in the world, saying it is very important for the United States to maintain strong ties with the North African Kingdom, America’s longstanding friend and ally.

The Republican Senator made the remarks following a meeting in Rabat with Moroccan foreign minister Nasser Bourita in presence of some members of the upper chamber of the U.S. Congress.

Senator Moran of Kansas also praised Morocco’s consensual approach building bridges of dialogue and bringing people together, calling for closer U.S. cooperation ties with the Kingdom to bring stability especially in Africa and beyond.

In October 2023, Senators Moran, Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-Kan.) and U.S. Representatives Tracey Mann (R-Kan.) and Jim Costa (D-Calif.) lead 35 of their colleagues in calling on U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo to reduce countervailing duties (CVD) imposed on phosphate fertilizers imports from Morocco.
