Canada’s Falcon teams up with China’s Hesen to set up Morocco anodes plant

Canada’s Falcon Energy Materials said it signed a technical and strategic partnership with China’s Hensen to set up an anodes plant in Morocco to produce coated spherical purified graphite, a key electric battery component.

Under this partnership, Hensen and Falcon will collaborate to develop a process flow sheet to produce coated spherical purified graphite as well as a preliminary economic assessment to demonstrate the economic viability of the Anode Plant in Morocco and advance discussions with financial partners and local authorities, Falcon said in a statement.

The plant targets an initial production capacity of 25,000 tobbes of graphite.

Significant progress has been made in discussions with several strategic partners interested in becoming Tier One international supplier of the plant, it said.
