Morocco’s Masen tenders for 400 MW northern wind project
Morocco’s sustainable energy agency MASEN launched a tender for a 400 MW wind project, dubbed Nassim Nord, in the country’s north, as the Kingdom seeks to bolster the share of renewable energy in its mix.
MASEN asked to submit bids before June 24 covering finance, construction, and operation of the wind project.
The project includes a 150MW wind farm in the provinces of Fahs Anjara and Mdiq Fnideq and a 250MW wind project in the provinces of Tangier and Tetouan.
The tender is consistent with Morocco’s push to increase the share of renewable energy in its mix to more than 52 by 2030.
Renewable energy represents 40% of Morocco’s installed capacity. Wind represents the major source of renewable energy in the country with a capacity share of 17%.
