Morocco committed to engage in international mobilization to end tragic, dangerous situation in Gaza – FM

Morocco remains committed to the option of peace and is willing to engage in international mobilization to end the tragic and dangerous situation in Gaza.
The remarks were made by Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita who represented King Mohammed VI at the Peace Summit hosted this Saturday by Egypt.

Morocco, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, remains committed to the option of peace and the importance of achieving stability, prosperity, and progress for all peoples, said Bourita, who emphasized the readiness of the Kingdom, in coordination with all partners, to engage in international mobilization to end the tragic and dangerous situation in Gaza.

Morocco, under the leadership of the King, President of the Al Quds Committee, wishes for this summit to convey five main messages to the international community, Bourita said.

The first message is a call to reduce escalation, cease the shedding of blood and military aggressions, and spare the region the horrors of a conflict that risks obliterating any remaining chances for peace and stability.

The second message focuses on the pressing need to protect civilians and not target them, in accordance with the principles of international law, international humanitarian law, and common human values.

The third message concerns the obligation to facilitate the rapid and smooth delivery of humanitarian aid in sufficient quantities to the benefit of the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip.

The fourth message pertains to rejecting all solutions and ideas aimed at displacing or deporting Palestinians from their territory and endangering the security of neighboring countries.

The fifth message relates to the imperative of launching a genuine peace process leading to a two-state solution, with a Palestinian state within the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Al-Quds as its capital, living side by side with the State of Israel.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres who is taking part in the Peace Summit called for a “humanitarian ceasefire” to “end the nightmare” prevailing in Gaza.

“We must act now to end the nightmare,” launched UN boss Antonio Guterres. The Gaza Strip, now under “complete siege” by Israel, “needs a massive delivery of aid,” he added.

All 30 countries and world and regional organizations attending the Peace Summit are calling for reducing escalation in Gaza, protecting civilians, opening security corridors, and allowing the entry of humanitarian aid.

Actually, a first convoy of humanitarian aid, coming from Egypt, entered Gaza on Saturday, desperately awaited by its besieged inhabitants who lack everything.

The aid left Egypt aboard 20 trucks, according to the UN, via the Rafah crossing, the only gateway to Gaza not in Israeli hands.
