Dakar hosts 12th session of OIC Standing Committee on Information & Cultural Affairs

The Senegalese capital of Dakar will stage for two days from October 17 the 12th Session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Standing Committee on Information and Cultural Affairs, known as COMIAC.

President Macky Sall will co-chair the session along with OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha.

The meeting will address activity reports of the OIC General Secretariat and OIC institutions in the fields of information, Culture, dialogue of civilizations, tourism, and youth. The session will adopt recommendations and resolutions to strengthen cooperation and solidarity among OIC Member States in these areas, the organization said.

COMIAC, one of the OIC Permanent Committees, is responsible for supervising and evaluating programs and projects related to information, culture, dialogue among civilizations, tourism and youth.

The West African country has been chairing the standing Committee for several years now.
