Situation in Gaza: Moroccan FM, SG of the PLO Executive Committee stress need to end the war, protect civilians

Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Hussein Al Sheikh, discussed in a phone call Sunday the situation in Gaza.

The two sides stressed the need for joint efforts to end the war, protect civilians, provide humanitarian aid, and prevent the displacement of Palestinians.

During the phone call, which is part of the ongoing coordination between the two countries, on the instructions of King Mohammed VI and the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Bourita and Hussein Al Sheikh also underlined the need for the establishment of a political path based on international legitimacy and international law to establish peace, security, and stability.

At the outbreak of military action in the Gaza Strip, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement stressing that the Kingdom of Morocco expresses its deep concern at the deterioration of the situation and the outbreak of military action in the Gaza Strip, and condemns attacks on civilians wherever they may be.
