Morocco’s Army deploys two additional field medical-surgical hospitals in earthquake-hit areas
On the high instructions of King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander, and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, the FAR have deployed two additional field medical-surgical hospitals (HMCC) in the rural commune of Mejjat in the province of Chichaoua and the rural commune of Ighrem in the province of Taroudant.
This action, which reflects the King’s profound care for all citizens, will bring the total number of FAR-deployed field hospitals to four. It will contribute to strengthening medical aid and assistance to the affected population, especially as the winter season is nearing, a statement from the FAR General Staff said.
The first two multidisciplinary field hospitals deployed in the Asni/Marrakech and Tafingoult/Taroudant regions have been operational since the early hours following the earthquake, and have so far performed approximately 121 surgical operations and over 25,000 specialized medical acts. Among these, about a hundred were provided remotely through Telemedicine techniques by specialist doctors from military hospital facilities, the statement added.
