Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency to empower city’s families through small-scale productive projects

Rabat-based Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency will support and empower Al-Quds families through small-scale productive projects under an agreement signed Wednesday with Al-Quds Governorate.

The agreement, which was initialed by the Agency’s Coordinator of Programs and Projects in Al-Quds, Ismail Ramli, and the Vice Governor of Al-Quds, Abdellah Sayyam, aims to support and empower families and women in the holy city through small-scale productive projects. The projects will primarily benefit the families and women living the governorate’s suburbs, where economic conditions are rather difficult.

The cost of the first phase of support projects amounts to $60,000.

In an address during the signing ceremony, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, the Agency’s Director in charge of management, affirmed that the Agency is fulfilling its obligations in accordance with the high directives of King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, and is diversifying human development projects and supporting Al-Quds families in all regions of the city, in coordination and partnership with the relevant Palestinian institutions, headed by Al-Quds Governorate.

He stressed that the work carried out by Al-Quds Governorate in serving the city’s residents, sometimes under difficult conditions, and deserves the support of all supportive institutions, based on a model that takes into account the real needs of the needy categories.

Cherkaoui pointed to successful models of partnership and cooperation between the Agency and Palestinian institutions in Al-Quds, which deserve attention due to the willingness of these institutions to comply with the conditions and standards of contracting approved by the Agency, which take into account the peculiarities of the city and the working conditions.

For his part, the Vice Governor of Al-Quds praised the Agency’s efforts to serve the city’s institutions in accordance with the directives of King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee.

In this regard, he voiced appreciation for the Agency’s working methods, which meet the needs of the Maqdessis and endeavor to strengthen their resilience in the city. This new agreement paves the way for a number of next steps within the framework of a permanent and continuous cooperation with the Agency, he noted.

The agreement is part of the ongoing work of Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency under the personal supervision of King Mohammed VI.
