Tebboune and his multiple blunders in Russia

Tebboune has wrapped up a visit to Russia during which he contradicted himself and drew mockery due to his clumsy praise of Putin.

Speaking at an economic forum in St Petersburg, Tebboune said Putin is a “friend of the whole of humanity,” an exaggerated statement verging on insanity that made Putin himself raise his eyebrows.

Myopic to the dire economic and social reality of his country, Tebboune spoke of an imaginary Algeria, boasting on the one hand that his country will have 60 million people in 2030 while stressing that gas production covers 70% of the population’s needs currently.

It is a known fact that Tebboune is very bad with figures. Assuming he was right, Algeria’s population would thus increase by 33%!

Tebboune kept speaking about his country as a partner of Russia wherein fact it is a pure client of Russian armament.

Tebboune reiterated his fantasy of joining the BRICS playing on the Russian chord of weakening the dollar and the euro, a statement that only shows Algiers’ status as a Russian satellite state on par with phony republics in the Caucasus.

But for a military regime in quest for international recognition, Tebboune’s visit was sold as a breakthrough and an evidence of the grandeur of oil and gas-dependent Algeria.

Meanwhile, Algerian people keep flocking on hazardous journeys on inflatable boats to Spanish coasts as inflation bites and unemployment surges.

If Algeria currently consumes 70% of its gas as Tebboune said, this means by 2030 it would no longer be able to export as the world shifts away from fossil fuels.

Tebboune has also mistaken Alexander II with Nicolas II, thanked Russia for protecting the freedom of Algerians and thanked Putin for his “help” that enabled Algeria to gain a non-permanent routine and meaningless seat at the security council!

Tebboune offered a solace for an isolated Putin and returned with nothing a part from a sidelining with a sanctioned Russia and empty promises. Russia considers Algeria as a client and a vassal and this has been reflected in Tebboune’s visit.
