Morocco, Israel agree on stepping up cooperation in health and security

Moroccan-Israeli relations are gaining momentum as evidenced by the growing number of cooperation deals sealed by the two countries in various sectors, including tourism, defense, industry, scientific research, agriculture, water, IT, healthcare, and security.

On Friday, the two countries agreed to strengthen their cooperation ties in the health sector under an agreement inked in Rabat by Moroccan health minister Khalid Ait Taleb and visiting Israeli peer Moshe Arbel.

Under the agreement, the two ministers pledge to share expertise and partnership in medical & technological innovation and the fight against non-communicable diseases.

Israel ranks 6th in the 2022 World Index of Healthcare Innovation and 1st in Asia. This country has one of the most technologically advanced and highest-quality healthcare systems in the world.

Moshe Arbel, who is also minister of the Interior, conferred the same day in Rabat with Moroccan interior minister Abdelouafi Laftit on bilateral cooperation prospects to counter common challenges.
