Côte d’Ivoire gets $450m investment for three projects on sidelines of Africa CEO Summit 2023

The Ivorian Government inked Tuesday three Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth $450 million for three projects to increase sustainable economic growth, job creation and private sector development, Anadolu news agency reports, citing a communique issued by national steering Committee for public-private partnerships.

The agreements were signed on the sidelines of the Africa CEO Forum held in Abidjan, the economic capital.

The first deal, of $100 million, concerns the construction of a 200,000 metric ton/year cashew processing plant in the Arise industrial zone (north of Abidjan).
The second agreement is about an integrated development of a plantain plantation covering 900 hectares. Valued at $32 million, the project will generate jobs through the recruitment of 190 young farmers and the construction of a banana chip processing plant.

The third deal, worth $307 million, aims at the construction of a three-tower building complex on the site currently housing the “Agence Ivoirienne de Presse”.

Already on Monday, Bruno Nabagné Koné, the Ivorian Minister of Construction, Housing and Urban Planning inked with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) a deal for the World Bank branch to work with the ministry to design, structure and tender a commercially viable Public-Private Partnership for a housing project.
