Morocco-Benin military cooperation reviewed in Rabat
Military cooperation between Morocco and Benin was reviewed at a meeting Tuesday in Rabat between Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the Southern Zone Lieutenant General Belkhir El Farouk and Chief of General Staff of Beninese Armed Forces, Brigadier General Fructueux Gbaguidi.
The meeting, which took place in the presence of Chiefs of the relevant offices of FAR General Staff, focused on bilateral cooperation between the Royal Armed Forces and the Beninese Armed Forces, said the FAR General Staff in a statement.
The two sides welcomed the ties of friendship, active solidarity and mutual trust that bind Morocco and Benin.
Military cooperation between the two armies, initiated in the 1990s, is mainly focused on the training of Beninese military personnel in FAR schools and training centers, both for initial and continuing training and for higher military education.
During the meeting, the two officials expressed their satisfaction with the expansion of military cooperation to other areas and reiterated their willingness to continue to work to further promote this bilateral cooperation.
