Morocco’s FAR Women Football Club wins CAF Champions League, receives royal congratulations

Morocco’s FAR women football club has won the 2nd edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in the final match that opposed it Sunday to South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns club.

Following this victory, King Mohammed VI sent the FAR club a message of congratulations wherein he commended the good performance of the FAR club members throughout this competition.
This performance testifies to their boundless energy, their high competitive spirit and their firm determination to represent their country in the best of ways, the Sovereign said, expressing his pride in the great accomplishments achieved by Moroccan women’s football at the national, continental and international levels, and its contribution to the promotion of Moroccan sport in its various disciplines to reach the highest peaks.

Reiterating his warm congratulations to all those who have contributed to this new African achievement, including players, technical and administrative staff and supporters, the King wished more success and titles to the FAR women’s football club.

The Sovereign had earlier spoken on the phone with the coach of the team Mohamed Amine Alioua and the captain Rabbah Aziza, to whom he expressed his warmest congratulations for this victory.
