Morocco, a strategic partner for Italy – FM Luigi Di Maio

Morocco is a strategic partner and a key interlocutor for Italy in the region, Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said.

“Morocco is a strategic partner for Italy and a key interlocutor on regional issues, starting with Libya,” the Italian minister wrote in a tweet following a phone conversation he had on Friday with his Moroccan peer Nasser Bourita.

The Italian top diplomat assured that his country is committed to strengthening cooperation with the Kingdom.

“We are committed to strengthening cooperation in all areas.”

Morocco and Italy celebrated in 2021 thirty years of diplomatic relations, an opportunity to renew their shared commitment to reinforcing relations in sectors such as trade, renewable energy, technology, education, and culture.
