Rabat backs Riyadh’s bid to host World Expo 2030

Morocco has announced its decision to support the candidacy of Saudi Arabia for hosting World Expo 2030, the largest international exhibition bringing together countries, the private sector, civil society and the general public around interactive shows, workshops, conferences…

The supportive stand was voiced by Moroccan foreign ministry, saying this reflects the strong distinguished ties existing between the two brotherly countries and between King Mohammed VI, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Morocco’s backing of the Saudi candidacy is also part of “the tradition of continuous solidarity, active cooperation and unwavering and mutual support between the two brotherly countries”, underlined the ministry in a press release.

Besides Saudi Arabia, Russia, South Korea, Italy and Ukraine are also vying for World Expo 2030 event. The host country will be elected in 2023 by member countries of the Paris-based International Bureau of Expositions.
