Morocco & UAE determined to step up defense & military cooperation
Ways of enhancing further military & defense cooperation between Morocco and the United Arab Emirates were at center talks held Tuesday in Abu Dhabi between General Belkhir El Farouk, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) & commander of the southern zone, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi & Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
The two parties also discussed a number of topics of mutual interest, said UAE news agency WAM without giving more details.
The trip of Gen. El Farouk to the Gulf country comes few days after his appointment by King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, as FAR inspector general, in replacement of General Abdelfattah Louarrak.
A statement issued by the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery said then Lt. General El Farouk will continue to carry out his mission as Commander of the Southern Zone. He was promoted for his professional skills and high spirit of responsibility shown during various missions.
