Royal Air Morocco, best airline in North African Region in 2021
Royal Air Maroc (RAM), the kingdom’s national carrier, has emerged as the first airline in the North African region over regional and continent giant EgyptAir.
World Airline Awards organized by United Kingdom-based aviation consultancy firm Skytrax named RAM the fourth best airline on the African continent. The continental ranking is dominated by iconic Ethiopian Airlines (1st), South African Airways (2nd), Kenya Airways (3rd), and Air Mauritius (5th).
The ranking makes RAM the best in the North African region. Regional rival, EgyptAir, is ranked 9th. The award took into account travelers’ opinions and a mix of more normal travel times combined with some travel during the global pandemic over September 2019 to July 2021 period.
The global ranking is headed by Qatar Airways which won the award for the sixth time since 1999 when Skytrax launched its first global, annual airline customer satisfaction survey. They are referred to as the Oscars of the aviation industry. The top 10 list also includes Singapore Airlines (2nd), ANA All Nippon Airways (3rd), Emirates (4th), Japan Airlines (5th), Cathay Pacific Airways (6th), EVA Air (7th), Qantas Airways (8th), Hainan Airlines (9th) and Air France (10th).
