This came in a tweet posted on the embassy’s website page this evening.
“The United States Embassy congratulates the Kingdom of Morocco on successfully holding general elections today,” tweeted the embassy.
“Our shared commitment to democratic processes strengthens our 200-year partnership,” the tweet added.
The Moroccan Ministry of the Interior said these elections were held under normal conditions and in compliance with health measures.
The voter turnout has reached 50.18%, according to the Interior Ministry.
Some 40 NGOs, including 19 foreign ones, sent observers to the Moroccan polls.
