International drug trafficking network dismantled in Kénitra has ramifications near Agadir

Investigations undertaken following the recent dismantling in Kenitra of an international drug trafficking network revealed that the network has ramifications elsewhere in Morocco, precisely in Ait Melloul, near the southern city of Agadir.

Investigation by the judicial police of Kénitra, in coordination with the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), led to the seizure on Sunday of 4.9 tons of cannabis in Ait Melloul that add to the 8.9 tons seized earlier in Kenitra.

The drug haul was concealed in metal tanks of crane trucks parked hidden in a warehouse in the industrial zone of Ait Melloul, said the national police in a press release.

Police investigators of the city of Kenitra continue their probe to identify all those involved in this major smuggling attempt and bring them to justice.
