Germany: Three Iraqi refugees stand trial for plotting terror attacks
The German justice Monday began in Hamburg the trial of three Iraqi men charged of plotting terror attacks against non-Muslim believers.
The defendants were arrested in January in the northwestern state of Schleswig-Holstein.
The prosecution charged two of them, both aged 23, for trying to manufacture explosives using black powder from firework.
The third, aged 36, is accused of aiding the main suspects to acquire a firearm “in order to kill or injure the largest possible number of people not of the Muslim faith”, reports say.
They could not get the weapon because it was too expensive, reports add.
The final verdict is expected on December 6 after the court adjourned the trial, which will continue for ten 10 court days.
